Follow us!
Follow us on social media - and share our content with your networks!
-
Learn more.
Learn more about paid family & medical leave. Share with friends and family. Ask them to share with their networks as well!
-
Contact your legislator.
You can ask them to meet with you and a few friends, call, email, or send a letter via carrier pigeon! Whether you think your legislator is on board or would NEVER support paid leave, they still need to hear from you! Check out the Maine Women’s Lobby Take Action Toolkit here! You can also check our Facebook page where we host letter to the editor and story writing workshops regularly.
-
Share your story.
Take a look at our story archive featuring Mainers who have been impacted by access to paid leave or lack thereof. Want to join the conversation? We’d love to have your voice! Share your story with us via our story sharing form or by emailing us.
-
Share what is possible.
What would be possible for you or someone you love if paid leave was a reality in Maine? Would you start that business you’ve always dreamed of? Would you be able to take care of a sick family member? Tell us what would be possible! This isn’t just about what was or would have been helpful for folks - it’s about what is possible when we finally pass paid leave for Mainers!
-
Host an event.
We love a good porch gathering, a community event at the local library, or a happy hour where people are talking about policies that will help people. (The snacks can be pretty great, too.) Whether you want to educate your neighbors, crank out some letters to legislators, or share your experiences with others who feel the same, we’re here to help you with facilitator guides and more. Complete this form to get started!
-
Write letters to the editor.
You can write a letter and send it to your local newspaper now or when we need a push to get this policy over the finish line. If you want to wait to publish it, you can write it now and look at that - you’re prepared to send it in when we let you know the timing is right! Be sure to check your local paper’s policies about writing letters to the editor.
-
Become a community leader.
We are moving this forward in a big way here in Maine - and we need your help! For more information about being a community leader, send us an email or sign up to volunteer!
