Anna’s Story

When my partner was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2020, she needed significant care as she went through chemotherapy and recovery.

Because I had paid family and medical leave through my job (as a combined Paid Time Off policy) I drove her to appointments, helped her manage daily tasks when she was too weak to care for herself, and was able to take time to attend a support group for caregivers. Because of COVID and she was high risk, I was so grateful to be able to take the time - it would have been difficult and dangerous to have other people come into the house to take care of her.
